North Korea develops its nuclear programme "at an alarming rate"

Keith Ellison Claims North Korean Leader Is 'More Responsible' Than Trump

Mike Pompeo, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, said Sunday that North Korea had developed "at an alarming pace" his ability to launch a nuclear attack against the United States, but was keen to get a sense of the imminence of a military confrontation with Pyongyang.

Meanwhile, North Korea said on Saturday that almost 3.5 million workers, party members and soldiers volunteered to join or rejoin its army to resist new U.N. sanctions and to fight against the United States in the current geopolitical tension between Pyongyang and Washington.

They said the United States and its allies can no longer afford to stand by as North Korea pushes ahead with the development of a nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missile.

He added that he was confident North Korea would continue to develop its missile capabilities under its leader Kim Jong-Un, "so it wouldn't surprise me if there was another test".

Asked how anxious people should be, Pompeo told Fox News on Sunday: "There's nothing imminent today".

"There's nothing imminent today", Pompeo told Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday", asked what kind of threat the U.S.is facing.

Ezekiel Elliott reportedly will file suspension appeal Tuesday
But Head coach Jason Garrett has not said anything on whether Elliott will be part of the action on Saturday night at the L.A. The topic wasn't something the Giants addressed as a team Friday. "I think that's what his goal is right now".

Mr Pompeo said "there's nothing imminent today", in response to a question about how anxious people should be over the escalating tensions. But make no mistake about it.

"The president has made it very clear to the North Korean regime how America will respond if certain actions are taken", Pompeo said.

North Korea announced on Thursday plans to fire missiles near the US Pacific territory of Guam, even though there was no indication an attack is imminent. When host Chris Wallace pressed him about how close North Korea is to being able to hit the US mainland, Pompeo said that it was alarming but hard to define.

Mike Pompeo says Pyongyang is moving at an "ever alarming rate" with its weapons program.

US National Security Adviser HR McMaster echoed the tenor of Mr Pompeo's remarks, saying the threat posed by North Korea is "coming to a head", but adding in an interview on ABC, "we're not closer to war than a week ago".

Mr Trump said the U.S. military was "locked and loaded", while Pyongyang has accused him of "driving" the Korean peninsula to the "brink of a nuclear war".
