Florida suspends 7 players for season opener vs. MI

Within an hour of Florida's announcement that the Gators suspended seven players for its season opener against MI at 3:30 p.m. ET on September 2 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the Wolverines went from being a favorite to a heavier favorite.

The other players who were suspended include: linebacker James Houston, offensive tackle Kadeem Telfort, defensive linemen Keivonnis Davis and Jordan Smith, offensive lineman Richerd Desir-Jones, and linebacker Ventrell Miller.

Callaway has had trouble with suspensions since he first joined the Gators three seasons ago.

Callaway was internally disciplined following the marijuana citation this spring.

Reasons for the suspensions handed down have not been formally announced, but sources are saying it has to do with "misuse of school-issued funds intended for specific use". In July, he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after police found marijuana in his pocket during a traffic stop.

ASEAN, China Adopt Framework for Maritime Code of Conduct
It was said that Vietnam had been urging Asean to take a stronger stand against Chinese expansion. The meeting was hosted by Manila and attended by 1,700 delegates.

Davis started five games last season.

Most of those six were either fighting for playing time or trying to work their way up the depth chart to receive playing time as underclassmen. His 5 quarterback hurries last season tied for second on the team.

Florida is preparing to face MI in Arlington, Texas, which will be the first regular-season matchup between the teams.

Houston, Telfort and Miller are all true freshmen, with Telfort being a Booker T. Washington High alum and Houston hailing from American Heritage-Plantation. Fellow lineman Desir-Jones appeared in two games last season but has switched to defensive line this season.

Being without Callaway could be big since he's the team's top offensive playmaker. And number two, learn to talk the guy next to him. From there, there is limited experience outside of the starting offensive line. He's also a threat on special teams as well.
