A bot just defeated one of the world's best video gamers

Dota 2 - OpenAI Blog

One of the best players in the world, which is entrusted to the standoff bot, was a Ukrainian nickname Dendi.

The OpenAI bot beat its human opponent, a pro gamer called Dendi, in less than 10 minutes of play.

A bot created by OpenAI, an artificial intelligence startup backed by Tesla CEO and visionary Elon Musk, could be the new best DOTA 2 player in the world, as the world's top human players have so far been no match for it.

"We just let it play lifetimes of 1v1 against itself, and coached it on what we thought was good or bad". OpenAI hopes to have its bot mastering five-on-fives by next year's Invitational, though.

The DOTA 2 AI faced off against Danil Ishutin, better known as Dendi and a popular name in the DOTA 2 eSports scene, at The International, the biggest annual tournament for the game. The title not only involves much more freedom of movement than most board games, but depends on feinting, denial and other less-than-obvious tactics. In the second game, after the AI scored a quick kill, Dendi threw in the towel, saying that the bot was simply "too strong!"

Dow plummets 205pts as Trump inflames Korea tension
South Korea's KOSPI fell 1.7 percent to its lowest since May 24, but its losses for the week are a relatively modest 3.2 percent. Earlier in the week, Trump said the USA would unleash "fire and fury" on North Korea if it continued to threaten the U.S.

Artificial intelligence company Open AI has created a bot that is taking down top Dota 2 players at The International 2017.

According to the OpenAI website, their bot has taken down SumaiL and Arteezy as well, the two Dota players best suited to facing off against a bot one on one. The AI "feels a little like [a] human, but a little like something else", Dendi said.

The next big step for the project is to create a team of five that can compete against a full squad at next year's global, according to OpenAI.

As they plan to explore the 5v5 Dota in the future, Elon Musk thanked Microsoft for use of their Azure cloud computing platform as it required massive processing power.
