Some of O.J. Simpson's closest friends reveal new details about the night that landed him in prison on ABC's 20/20 tonight - ahead of his upcoming parole hearing.

Former Chairman Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners Thomas Patton said that the board's current options were to "grant release on parole, deny parole at this time and reconsider O.J. for parole at a later date, or deny parole and require O.J.to serve the remainder of his final sentence".

Reps for Nevada's Department of Corrections and Parole Board didn't comment. "It doesn't matter what your name is".

Simpson will have an opportunity to speak during the upcoming hearing, according to David Smith, a spokesman for the parole board. If the board votes against him, Simpson could stay in prison until 2022.

The public's fascination with Simpson hasn't ebbed since his era-defining arrest (and acquittal) for the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman.

Asked what he thought would happen with De Gea this summer, the former Madrid youth player said there would be no movement.

He told Page Six, "The Juice is sweating it over the parole hearing. They're looking at a particular crime for which he was incarcerated in Nevada", said Patton, who served as chair in 1997 and 1998.

Simpson was convicted of trying to take pieces of sports memorabilia he claimed were stolen from him. He had broken in with five other men and seized several items he believed were his property - game balls, plaques, photos of his children.

Simpson has served almost nine years in prison following the armed robbery at the Palace Station hotel-casino in Las Vegas in September 2007. He has already been granted parole on some of the charges in 2013.

"O.J. just feels the media is working against him, the hype is working against him", he said. A fifth accused accomplice, Clarence "C.J". They will also examine Simpson's prison history and ask about his plans for the future, he continued.
