Mosquitoes Carrying West Nile Virus Detected In Richland Co

The state's first human case of West Nile virus this year has been confirmed in Cleveland County, state epidemiologist Kristy Bradley confirmed Tuesday. Oneida County reported a dead crow last week.

"The West Nile virus season has begun", said Dr. Philip Armstrong, Medical Entomologist at the CAES. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said that all residents of areas where virus activity has been identified are at risk.
