Oscar sparks mass brawl in Chinese league

Oscar started an utterly massive brawl in the Chinese Super League

Little did anyone know that the Brazilian global will be at the epicenter of a never seen before mass brawl during Shanghai's CSL game against Guangzhou R&F on Sunday.

Another Brazilian worldwide, the forward Hulk, equalised for Shanghai after being set up by Oscar just before the fisticuffs.

All 22 players and both benches were involved in the altercation, but amazingly, only two players were sent off - none of which were Oscar. The former Chelsea man also leads the club in key passes and long balls, playing a familiar position on the left side of Shanghai's midfield in a 4-3-3.

Oscar, who moved to China for a reported NZ$105m in January, started the ruckuss by appearing to deliberately kick the ball at two Guangzhou players shortly before the end of the first half.

When order was restored after pushing and shoving between both sides, R&F's Li Tixiang and Shanghai's Fu Huan were dismissed and three others were booked.

Portuguese manager Villas-Boas defended Oscar, saying that he was "just being passionate".

Oscar was unhurt and the fiery encounter finished 1-1 to leave SIPG four points behind reigning champions Evergrande.

Video of the tussle spread quickly in mainstream and social media.

Coach Dragan Stojkovic said: "I never allow my players to play so dirty".

One player from each side received a red card, but Oscar walked away without any disciplinary action.
