Georgia fugitives arrested near Christiana

Officers arrested Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose in Christina, Tennessee, that effectively ended a nationwide manhunt for the pair after they escaped Tuesday.

According to Bedford County Sheriff Austin Swing, Row, 43, and DuBose, 24, on Thursday entered the unnamed couple's Shelbyville home after their vehicle broke down nearby.

The home invasion led authorities to hunt down the Jeep, which they reportedly discovered driving down I-24 and engaged in pursuit.

The murderers fired their weapons at the police as they tried to speed away, but eventually they crashed the stolen vehicle into the woods and ran toward a nearby home.

Dubose and Rowe had been running from police since Tuesday morning, when they managed to overpower the drivers of the corrections bus that was transporting them in Putnam County, Ga.

The man and woman "are lucky they're alive", said Bedford County sheriff Austin Swing.

Rowe is serving life without parole for armed robbery, the department of corrections said, and Dubose is serving a 20-year sentence for armed robbery.

Dubose and Rowe stole a truck in Madison, Georgia, and ditched it about 260 miles away in Moore County, Tennessee, on Thursday, Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said.

The two inmates who have been on the run for three days after authorities say they killed two corrections officers, have been captured. They then stole the couple's SUV, authorities say, and an officer spotted the stolen vehicle hours later on Interstate 24. With deputies in hot pursuit, the suspects fled so quickly that they left their guns in the couple's wrecked auto, running through trees to a nearby home, where they tried to steal another vehicle, authorities said.

Fears more Muslims could be targeted after London mosque attack
One victim has died and at least 10 others were injured after a van plowed into a group of people near a north London mosque. Jeremy Corbyn , the leader of the opposition Labour Party , also commented on the incident on Twitter .

He said Rowe and DuBose entered the home with guns drawn and even held guns to the couple's head.

"You normally sit on the front porch every day and it's quiet and peaceful and then one day you just see cops and you're like 'What the heck?'" She said.

The pair shot to death two prison officers during the escape in the early hours of Tuesday, as they were being moved between two penal facilities.

"The Ricky I know is nothing like what we are seeing on TV, all the tattoos, the heinous things going on".

"Earlier tonight, with the assistance of our law enforcement partners in Tennessee, risky fugitives were captured and taken into custody". With help from a neighbor, the man held the two escapees at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived to arrest them.

CORRECTS SOURCE TO GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS IN SIGNOFF- This undated photo released by the Georgia Department of Corrections Tuesday, June 13, 2017, shows inmate Donnie Russell Rowe.

Rowe and Dubose made their first appearance while in Rutherford County custody today, waiving their extradition to Georgia. According to the order from the governor's office, Sgt. Billue served with the Georgia Department of Corrections for 10 years.

Sills said the inmates broke into a home on Cox Road in Morgan County right after their escape and ransacked it before stealing some food and clothes.

The slain Baldwin State Prison officers were Christopher Monica, 42, who was hired in 2009, and Curtis Billue, 58, who was hired in 2007, Georgia Corrections said.
