Pakistan thrash holders India to win Champions Trophy

Pakistan thrashed arch-rivals India by 180 runs to win the global cricket tournament at The Oval in London, U.K. on Sunday.

Amir trapped Rohit Sharma lbw from the third ball, before captain Virat Kohli was dropped and then dismissed in successive balls.

Fakhar Zaman (114 from 142 balls) hit the first ODI century of his career to help the underdogs thrash bitter rivals India by 180 runs in Sunday's final at The Oval.

Put into bat, the Men in Green had a ideal start as both Azhar Ali and Zaman shared a 128-run opening stand to put their team on road of a massive first innings-score.

Azhar Ali (59), Mohammed Hafeez (57) and Babar Azam (46) also played solid to prop up the Pakistan innings.

Amir (6-2-16-3) then tormented the Indian batsmen with a devastating first spell and eventually the defending champions were bundled out for 158 in only 30.3 overs.

Azhar, often criticised for slow-scoring, completed a 61-ball fifty with a single off Ravindra Jadeja and later in the same over Fakhar followed him to the landmark in 60 balls when he cut the left-arm spinner for four through Yuvraj Singh at point.

Arthur admitted Pakistan were desperate to prove they could go toe to toe with tournament favourites India with the title up for grabs.

After winning the toss, Indian skipper Virat Kohli said that they are not taking Pakistan for granted and are looking forward to putting their best foot forward.

Russian Federation probe causes tension among top officials at Justice Department
Russia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Trump is "returning us to the forgotten rhetoric of the Cold War". Trump has repeatedly tweeted about the Russian Federation investigation, last week calling the probe a "witch hunt".

Pakistan piled up an impressive 338 for four after being put in to bat and India's much-vaunted top order of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Kohli were blown away by an inspired opening burst by Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir.

Pakistan have lost all three of their previous matches against India in the knockout stages of International Cricket Council events but Sarfraz said: "I am proud of my boys: we were ranked number eight and today, we have nothing to lose".

But India love a chase right?

"We can't take anyone lightly but they were more intense and passionate on the day".

Although a mix-up while running between the wickets ended their opening stand at 128 runs, Zaman continued the onslaught even after Ali's wicket.

India played an unchanged XI from their 9 wicket win against Bangladesh in the semifinal while Pakistan made one change with the fit-again Mohammad Amir replacing the rookie Rumman Raees.

The spin duo of Imad Wasim and Mohammad Hafeez alongside medium-pacer Rumman Raees - who made his debut in the semi-finals - will look to provide depth and variation to the Pakistan bowling line-up. India defeated Pakistan by eight wickets.

Fakhar had survived being given out off a Jasprit Bumrah no ball on just three, and that error turned out to be the defining moment of the final.
