Manchester United boosted as Cristiano Ronaldo is valued at £131m — In Focus

Ronaldo has been strongly linked with a return to United after it emerged he has made a decision to leave Real Madrid this summer, but Ken Lawrence's Sunday World back page exclusive reveals Mourinho is not interested in a mega-money deal for his compatriot.

Ronaldo, who has scored a phenomenal 406 in 394 games for Los Blancos, is now on global duty with European Champions Portugal in the Confederations Cup in Russian Federation.

At the moment, United are wary of being drawn into a transfer saga surrounding Ronaldo's future and the general feeling at Old Trafford is that he will stay in Madrid.

As for his current unhappiness, former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon told BBC Radio 5 that he doesn't know why Cristiano Ronaldo is seeking to leave the club, but he thinks it could be hard to change his mind.

Real insisted they were "absolutely convinced" Ronaldo would prove his innocence and pledged him the club's "full confidence". Yet spending it on a 32-year-old, no matter how talented, would be pretty outlandish.

The rumours of a possible transfer back to England by the two-time Ballon d'Or victor started after a report surfaced that Spanish authorities have accused the 32-year-old of avoiding £14.7m in taxes.

Minnesota officer acquitted in shooting of Philando Castile
It was the first time in the history of the state that a police officer was charged in a fatal shooting that happened on duty. He also said he feared for his life after Castile began pulling his gun out of his pocket despite his commands not to do so.

Here's a quick synopsis of what some of the most recently updated news stories are claiming in regards to the "Come Home Ronaldo" narrative.

United spend a summer trying to negotiate Ronaldo's transfer - and miss out on their other targets as a result.

Real released a statement, saying they have full confidence in their player.

Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, is pinning for a return to Manchester United.

Sky Italia are reporting that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to return to Manchester United.

Two weeks ago the 32-year-old would meet up with Ferguson again, this time after his brace against Juventus in a 4-1 victory inspired Los Blancos to their twelfth Champions League/European Cup success and third in the last four years. "He's very strong-minded and clear in what he wants". Gazzetta dello Sport claims he has told Paris Saint-Germain he won't be back next season and demanded a move to Barcelona.
