Sessions to face sharp questions on Russian Federation contacts

High-profile supporters of President Donald Trump are turning on special counsel Robert Mueller, the man charged with investigating Russian interference in the us election and possible collusion with Trump's campaign.

The White House has said Donald Trump "has no intention" of sacking the special counsel investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. "I can not get over these fawning Cabinet members", he said.

"Mr. Ruddy never spoke to the president regarding this issue", White House press secretary Sean Spicer said.

Trump would seemingly have to order Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein to rescind department regulations protecting a special counsel from being fired for no good reason, and then to fire Mr. Mueller.

Let's also recall that despite the media's tunnel vision on Trump, the wider Russian Federation investigation is examining a much wider array of issues and questions pertaining to our geopolitical adversary's malicious meddling efforts in the 2016 election. The news came a day before Attorney General Jeff Sessions is scheduled to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee to answer questions about possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials.

Speaker (R-Wis.) on Monday accused the media of ginning up a fake storyline about Trump considering firing Mueller.

"I have a lot of confidence in Bob Mueller". "So, Comey's a liar and a coward, because Trump never said 'I hope you let Flynn go, '" Colbert summarized, noting that it's too bad nobody told that to Donald Trump Jr., who went on Fox News and "completely contradicted everything Donald Trump just said".

"Whoever leaked [news of the obstruction investigation] was obviously reading that he was thinking about giving Mueller the boot", an official told the Daily Beast.

Trump's New Housing Program Director Seems Like an Amazing Wedding Planner
In June 2015, again according to LinkedIn , Patton became a "senior adviser & family liaison" to Trump's presidential campaign. The elevation of Patton follows a familiar pattern in Trump's life - both in and out of politics.

Former FBI director gave Mueller documents containing details of his conversation with the president on the subject of the investigation.

"Republicans are delusional if they think the special counsel is going to be fair", tweeted Newt Gingrich, who is close to Trump.

Chris Ruddy, a friend of Trump's and the chief executive of Newsmax, a USA news outlet, went so far as to suggest the president was already thinking about "terminating" Mueller.

Speaking from the Senate floor Tuesday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said he was "frankly disturbed" by Trump's "hard right" supporters attempting to "discredit" Mueller and "sully his reputation".

He added, "I'm not going to follow any order unless I believe those are lawful and appropriate orders. The fallout from the firing of Mueller would likely be as explosive as (Richard Nixon's) firing of special counsel Archibald Cox in 1973".

Last month, Gingrich had tweeted: "Robert Mueller is superb choice to be special counsel". Mueller first four hires were all Democrats. If Rosenstein refused, Trump could fire Rosenstein. But the president is going to seek the advice of his counsel and inside the government as well as outside. "If there were not good cause, it would not matter to me what anybody said", he said.

"In recent days, the president has told his staff, his visitors, and his outside advisers that he was increasingly convinced Mueller, like Comey, his successor as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was part of a "witch hunt" by partisans who wanted to see him weakened or forced from office", the daily said.
