But while ice cubes dilute your coffee when they melt, coffee ice just melts into more coffee.

So hats off to Starbucks, which is trying to end that crime by testing its own coffee ice at about a hundred Baltimore and St. Louis cafés. The new cubes will put customers back 80 cents per drink, TODAY reports.

Starbucks isn't the only coffee maker to sell special ice cubes.

In the participating stores, consumers can add ice that's been made using Starbucks coffee to any iced espresso or brewed coffee beverage for 80 cents. Slowly, people started to realize that coffee ice was indeed being tested at Starbucks. If you live in St. Louis, Missouri, or Baltimore, Maryland, that is.
