Visakhapatnam Railway Station Leads Cleanest List While Darbhanga Comes Last

Indian Railway

The Visakhapatnam railway station is the cleanest, followed by Secunderabad, among the 75 busiest stations (A1 category) in the country. The survey results were declared in a report released by Suresh Prabhu, Union Railway Minister.

In the list of top 10 Grade A1 railway stations in Maharashtra, Pune stands at the 9th spot, and in Grade A category, Ahmadnagar and Badnera are ranked 3rd the 6th, respectively. The biggest challenge for cleanliness at the platforms is visitors along with the passengers, even the toilets are used by large number of visitors who are not Railway travellers.

Although it was safe to assume that none of the city's major stations would feature among the top 10 due to the sheer number of passengers using them, it was surprising to see how majority slipped in rankings when compared to the 2016 survey.

Dadar station was discovered to be Mumbai's dirtiest major railway station; it ranked 330th out of 407 stations.

Warriors: Conference finals schedule vs. Spurs set
Coach Gregg Popovich announced before the game that Leonard wouldn't play, adding that it wasn't Leonard's decision to sit. Leonard has averaged 27.8 points per game to go along with 7.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game in the playoffs thus far.

As the occasion, the Minister also launched Swachh Rail portal with an aim to showcase rankings along with methodology adopted for stations and trains specific dashboards.

The survey was carried out for 407 stations, out of which 75 are in the A-1 category or busiest stations and 332 are in the A category. To LTT, the survey gave an overall rank of 278 (down from 85 in 2016) and a category (A1; station generates annual passenger revenue of above Rs 50 crore) rank of 60 (down from 22 in 2016).

The cleanest among the surveyed cities announced by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu included Vishakhapatnam, Secunderabad, Jammu Tawi and Vijayawada. Railways have accomplished a significant improvement in cleanliness at station.

The railway station which contributes Rs. 6 crore - Rs. 50 crore yearly as passenger revenue are given and A category. Continuously for two years, Bhopal station is being ranked as dirties. Merely organising cleanliness and awareness campaigns ritualistically every year is not going to make any difference unless railway officials are held accountable.
