Colbert Begs Trump Not to Fire Sean Spicer

Moonves praised Colbert, admitting that he likes him more now that he is No. 1 in late night.

CBS chairman and CEO Leslie Moonves came out next, and rather than focus too much on his network's primetime performance - down 22 percent in the demo - he, too, used the Manhattan stage to tout Colbert's 15-week winning streak with total viewers.

"I understand if the president doesn't particularly like my show", Colbert told the Carnegie Hall audience.

As Colbert points out in the routine below, this comes just days after the bungled firing of FBI Director James Comey, whch came weeks after the awkward firing of acting Attorney General Sally Yates.

Stephen Colbert had some suggestions for President Trump to distract from the latest scandal. Colbert went on to explain the gravity of Trump's intelligence leak to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

"Ladies and gentlemen, there's no getting around it", Stephen Colbert said at the top of Tuesday night's episode of the Late Show.

Andre Iguodala out for Warriors with soreness in left knee
Warriors Game 2 live steam as well as all other games in the 2017 NBA Playoffs by signing up with a one-time payment of $9.99. And he'll probably get a lot more minutes down the stretch of this series, and he hopefully can continue to do the same".

"Of course, no press conferences might mean no Sean Spicer, but Trump put that rumor to rest - sort of", Colbert said as he aired footage of the president calling the press secretary "a wonderful human being, a nice man".

But it's not really so surprising, Colbert added, CBS being "full of No. 1 shows, with The Big Bang Theory being the No. 1 comedy, 60 Minutes the No. 1 news program, and NCIS the No. 1 drama and the No. 1 NCIS".

James Corden, who follows Colbert, introduced "Star Trek: Discovery", one of a legion of reboots hitting the broadcast networks this fall, saying: "I am ideal for 'Star Trek.' I also come from a distant planet where there is no life - at 12.35 a.m".

"This administration has been just as odd as I imagined it would be".

Thank you for making me laugh for the first time in what feels like a week and a century, Stephen. We're both TV hosts who spend most of our time talking about Donald Trump.

Popular Video SNL is not a fan of the Trump administration, and it shows with every new skit they produce.
