Hernandez lawyer wants murder conviction erased

He was serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd, who had been dating Jenkins Hernandez's sister. John Thompson said Friday he would file the necessary paperwork in Bristol County, the jurisdiction where Hernandez was tried and convicted in 2015.

The family of former National Football League star Aaron Hernandez will ask a judge on Friday to order prison officials to preserve evidence collected after he was found dead in his cell on Wednesday from an apparent suicide.

Leontire was harshly critical of state authorities.

"We have not been told any of the circumstances around his death". But I just want you to know, if you f- me over, I'll kill you.' I sort of laughed a little bit, and I said, 'Don't worry, I got you, I'll take care of you.' It was me and this other reporter from CBS Sports, William Bendetson, and he was standing there and had listened and we kind of turned to each other and both laughed. "Frankly, I think it violates every code of decency".

Aaron Hernandez reportedly left three handwritten notes before he hanged himself in prison.

Senator Eldridge spoke to media outlets outside the corrections facility on Wednesday, and also posted on his social media accounts a reminder of his proposal for a bill that would address suicide among prisoners and correction officers in MA.

Authorities have still not released the incident report, officers' logs or video footage from the area around Hernandez's cell, despite repeated requests from The Associated Press.

Hernandez's suicide came less than one week after he was acquitted of a double murder in 2012. The Daily Mail also claims sources confirmed that Hernandez had been planning his suicide for weeks, giving away his personal belongings to fellow inmates and covering his cell floor in soap so that "if he lost his nerve, he wouldn't be able to save himself". If true, Leontire said, that would be a "extraordinary violation" of procedure.

The notes were for his fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, his four-year-old daughter, and apparently for his gay jailhouse lover who is also now on suicide watch. The defendants are listed as Thomas Turco, the commissioner of Department of Corrections, Daniel Bennett, the secretary of Public Safety, and Steven Silva, the superintendent of the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center.

House Russia Probe Back on Track as Delayed Hearings Are Rescheduled
The break in the impasse comes a couple weeks after Nunes recused himself from the committee's Russian Federation investigation. Nunes later acknowledged that details had been shared with him by a secret source on the White House grounds.

Hernandez was serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the murder of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd in 2013.

It may never be clear why Hernandez would kill himself just days after he was cleared of two additional murder charges.

Sheff is representing Lloyd's mother, Ursula Ward, in a wrongful-death lawsuit.

Legal experts have said Hernandez's death complicates the status of that case.

All first-degree murder convictions in MA trigger an automatic appeal.

Civil suits often rely on a criminal conviction as its basis of facts, so without it, Lloyd's suit asking for damages could be trickier.

"I can't speak to what the Patriots will do", Sheff said.

Sheff says he's asked the Patriots for $6 million. He missed parts of practice during the week before the AFC championship following the 2011 season but played in the game, catching seven passes and running the ball three times in the Patriots' 23-20 victory over Baltimore.
