Russia-Syria Ties to Dominate G7 Meeting of Foreign Ministers

"There seems to be a difference between what Ambassador Haley is saying, and what she said last night that Assad really has no future, and what I heard this morning from Secretary Tillerson".

The Pentagon said the base was used to store chemical weapons after at least 86 people, including 33 children, were killed in a nerve gas attack in rebel-held Idlib province earlier this week.

"Russia could be part of the solution", he said, noting that now they were "part of the problem".

Russian Federation has condemned USA missile strikes on an airbase at Shayrat as an act of "aggression against a sovereign state in violation of global law".

When asked about Washington's anti-Russia sanctions, the US Secretary of State said "there is no reason to be lifting sanctions".

The American strikes "aim at slowing the victories of the Syrian army and its allies, and reinforcing terrorist groups", they said in a statement.

Columbia rally one of 500 planned in March for Science
And by the same token, those countries that fail to educate their children about the science of the future will not prosper. But, compared with recent years, the Trump era has seen a marked increase in demonstrations on the city's federal land.

Pressed to clarify, McMaster said the goals of fighting IS and ousting Syria's president were somewhat "simultaneous" and that the objective of the missile strike was to send a "strong political message to Assad". The Republican criticized calls by his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, for the establishment of a no-fly zone and "safe zones" to protect non-combatants.

Russian Federation has backed Syria for much of the six-year conflict, and has used its veto power in the UN Security Council on several occasions to prevent action being taken against the Damascus government.

"I think the real failure here has been Russia's failure to live up to its commitments under the chemical weapons agreements that were entered into in 2013", Tillerson said on ABC's "This Week". On Sunday, a joint command center comprised of Russian, Iranian and militia forces supporting Assad said it would respond to any new aggression and increase its support for its ally.

The comments represented a departure from what Haley had said before the United States hit a Syrian air base with 59 Tomahawk missiles on Thursday in retaliation for what it said was a chemical weapons attack by Assad's forces on Syrian civilians.

The US and United Kingdom have blamed Russia for being complicit in the horrific deaths of innocent Syrians in last week's chemical attack and the federation is facing the threat of fresh global sanctions over its support for the dictator.

"We're calling (Russia and Iran) out", Haley told "State of the Union" anchor Jake Tapper. "And Secretary Tillerson basically saying the same thing after kind of contradicting himself and then saying the same thing argues vigorously for a plan and a strategy. It's not going to work", Rubio said.
