Who's behind rallies seeking tax returns

Donald Trump at Republican debates

Demonstrators in dozens of US cities and towns, including Washington D.C., New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and Palm Beach, where Trump was spending Easter Weekend at his resort Mar-a-Lago, marched on Saturday to demand Trump release his tax returns.

At least 20 people were arrested Saturday at a park in Berkley, Calif., when attendees of a pro-Trump and an anti-Trump rally clashed. Officers confiscated knives and makeshift weapons. The president was unimpressed, tweeting that someone "paid for the small organized rallies", and that "the election is over!". "The election is over!"

About 25,000 to as many as 35,000 protesters poured onto New York City streets on Saturday, according to NYPD estimates, organizer Wes Shockley said.

Tuesday is tax day and questions continue over the President's still unreleased tax returns.

Trump responded with tweets, saying, "I did what was an nearly impossible thing to do for a Republican - easily won the Electoral College!"

And then he quickly rehashed old obsessions, wondering why his tax returns are suddenly an issue again.

GARCIA-NAVARRO: And this morning, President Trump tweeted his view of the protests. Hillary Clinton and her campaign repeatedly criticized President Trump and he won despite all this.

Joel Ward added two assists. "Whether it's on our power play or 5-on-5, we can be a little better there". "We rode that momentum". Your coach, Peter DeBoer, says the decision will be up to you. "We've been saying we have confidence in it", Joe Thornton said.

While some may consider this debate long over and fruitless, the reality is that a whopping 80 percent of Americans want the President to increase his transparency by releasing his tax returns.

Spicer did not offer the IRS rule as a reason for Trump's refusal to release his 2016 taxes on Monday. At one point during Monday's town hall in Little Rock the crowd erupted into a "lock him up chant" when discussing Trump's foreign policy. Audits do not prevent the release of tax returns.

Trump said throughout the campaign that he would not release his taxes, and his spokesman said prior to today not to expect financial documents from last year's earnings, either.

Many Democrats have called on Trump to make his returns public, but Kinzinger is one of only a few Republican voices to join their call.

Among other things, Trump's critics argue that the tax returns could reveal potential conflicts of interest with actions he takes as commander in chief.

"No, I said, 'I'd have to get back to you on that.' I think that he is still under audit".
