Microsoft To-Do is a new app that replaces Wunderlist

Microsoft To-Do is a new app that replaces Wunderlist

Once that's done, you'll be signed in to the website, and the next time you sign-in Microsoft says it will remember your preference for using the Authenticator app, thereby reducing the number of steps you have to take to sign-in the second time around. One of them will allow users to automatically sync their Outlook Tasks with To-Do. Still, don't hold onto Wunderlist for too long, as Microsoft points out that once it's confident in To-Do, it will retire Wunderlist for good.

Interested users can download and install Microsoft Authenticator app from the App Store or Google Play and then add their Microsoft account to the app. It's lacking a few features still, like list sharing and collaboration, but that's all on the way.

Still, Microsoft's decision to omit Windows Phone support with this new password bypass feature didn't seem popular, based on reader comments accompanying the announcement.

Microsoft Authenticator is a pleasant enough two-factor authentication app. An empty list provides you the chance to daily determine which tasks you'll tackle in the new day and which you won't; this kind of starting-from-scratch approach is where Intelligent Suggestions come in.

Close call: Irving scores 37, Cavs hold on to beat Pacers
Smith sustained a left hamstring injury in the first half against the Indiana Pacers on Monday and did not return. I said those things only to motivate us to win a series. "We need to focus on whatever we need to do".

You can also tap Intelligent Suggestions for ideas on what's most important.

More importantly - to Microsoft, at least - is that To-Do has been built to integrate with Microsoft Office. The two-step authentication involves users entering their username for a Microsoft account and thereafter, receiving a sign-in alert on their devices that they can either approve or deny. Instead, anyone with a Microsoft account can use To-Do, even if they don't have an Office 365 plan, the company confirmed. Microsoft also plans to release To-Do for Android tablets, along with the iPad and Mac PCs, sometime in the future.

In an update to the post, Simons confirmed that there is no analogous feature for Windows Phones.

The company notes that Wunderlist users don't have to make the switch to To-Do yet, but they have created an importer if users are interested in migrating.
