Kevin Durant won't play for Warriors in Game 2 of playoffs

Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard center shoots against Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green bottom and center Ja Vale McGee top left during the first half of Game 1 of a first-round NBA basketball playoff series against the Portlan

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Golden State Warriors clamped down on the Portland Trail Blazers 110-81 on Wednesday to take a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference first-round series, using a dominant defensive performance that belied their injury issues. Following Wednesday's contest, the Warriors don't play until Saturday, which would give him a full five days off to rest the calf and get it as close to 100 percent as possible. When Durant missed a quarter of the season with a strained MCL and bone bruise in his left leg, the Warriors started Matt Barnes and/or rookie Patrick McCaw at various instances. He returned for the final three games of the regular season and recorded a pair of double-doubles alongside a 29-point outing.

In the game-1 loss, CJ McCollum scored game-high 41 points while Damian Lillard posted 34 for the Blazers.

"We saw some things we definitely need to improve on going into Game 2", Washington coach Scott Brooks said. Kent Bazemore committed a two costly turnovers when the Hawks tried to play just a couple minutes without a traditional point guard.

"Our offense got scattered, we were rushing everything".

Golden State struggled mightily when Durant went down at the end of February, but they quickly rebounded.

US VP Pence assures Japan: America is with you '100 percent'
Trump campaigned on an "America first" platform, and has vowed to narrow big trade deficits with nations such as China and Japan. The North has said such launches are an act of deterrence against a potential invasion by the United States or South Korea.

Durant has managed 25.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists in his first season in the Bay Area after choosing the Warriors in free agency.

Obviously, not having starting center Jusuf Nurkic hurts in that regard, but no one else on Portland's roster looked capable of making an impact. Coming off one of the greatest individual regular seasons in National Basketball Association history, Stephen Curry suffered multiple injuries in last year's postseason and missed six games.

Welcome back my Portland Trail Blazers vs Golden State Warriors fans.

The Warriors have become accustomed to playing without their top player in big games ever since past year. A 121-109 defeat is not as bad as many thought, but still leaves a lot to be desired if you are a Blazers fan.

Kerr hopes to have a healthy lineup for Game 3, though might choose to hold out Durant again given the series lead.
