'I Shot Them,' Suspect In Deadly Fresno Shootings Tells Police

As the Associated Press reports, Muhammad shouted "Allahu akbar" as he was being arrested, however Fresno police have made clear that this was not an act of terrorism.

In a Facebook account under Muhammad's name, there were several posts about "white devils" and the cryptic message "my kill rate increases tremendously on the other side". He also told investigators he is Muslim, but he prays to seven different gods and hasn't been to a mosque in 25 years.

Officers witnessed him yell "Allah Akbar", Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said Tuesday afternoon, adding that he has written anti-government sentiments on social media as well as posts saying that he does not like white people.

Born Cory Taylor, Muhammad is also a self-styled rapper who calls himself "Black Jesus". Muhammad had gone there to meet a woman, and he argued with security who asked him to leave.

The police chief says Muhammad hasn't shown any remorse other than saying sorry to Dyer during his arrest. Dyer said the shootings appeared to be random and unprovoked.

"What Kori (Muhammad) said was that he fired his weapon at Carl Williams because he felt that Carl Williams had disrespected him", Dyer said. He has also been accused of making terrorist threats and been associated with gangs, but he was not a confirmed member, police said. He told her loved her too.

Two of those shot at were near Catholic Charities and were clients of the social services agency, Dyer said.

The suspect fled again and found three white men at a bus stop.

He now faces four counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. Wright says he expects the arraignment will be scheduled for Friday.

Shooter Kori Ali Mohammed was already wanted after last week he shot a police officer outside a motel in the city. Gassett was killed near his home, Van Curen said.

He first walked up to a lorry and shot a 34-year-old white man sitting in the passenger seat, but spared the Latino driver.

Randalls was in a training program for Pacific Gas & Electric and doing a ride-along Tuesday when he was gunned down.

Utility company PG&E said in a statement that one of the victims had been an employee.

Monique Skinner tells The Fresno Bee (http://bit.ly/2osozFS ) that she was outside her apartment when she flipped the victim over and he gasped and died. Gassett had just left the Catholic Charities with a grocery bag full of food when he was shot. His identity wasn't released.

Police later Tuesday arrested 39-year-old Kori Ali Muhammad.

Police were searching for the revolver Muhammad said he tossed into a pile of clothing.

The suspect was wanted for the murder of a motel security guard who was unarmed when he was killed on Thursday. He then shot and killed the man he encountered next. His attorney said that Muhammad had "paranoia" and thought the justice system and his defense attorney were conspiring against him, court papers said. He also was wanted in connection with another killing days earlier, in which a security guard was gunned down at a Fresno motel after responding to a disturbance.
