Bill O'Reilly is Officially Out at Fox News Channel

After a 21-year career at Fox News, veteran broadcaster Bill O'Reilly was dismissed by the conservative channel on Wednesday following a series of sexual harassment allegations. NPR's David Folkenflik reports that Walsh went through Fox News' formal complaint process, alleging O'Reilly made unwelcome advances during what she believed to be a business dinner.

Fox News addressed the departure of Bill O'Reilly Wednesday night, as the show that used to bear his name debuted as simply "The Factor". The network will also want to determine how to maintain audience consistency for the rest of its lineup, which includes Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity.

Fox has lost multiple stars and executives in the previous year. "The many sexual harassment allegations leveled against him reveal a clear and ugly pattern of misogynistic behavior".

In the time since this information was released, The O'Reilly Factor lost more than half of its advertisers, while women's rights groups called for O'Reilly to be removed. "I look forward to even more success in the coming years". Bustle has reached out to Fox News for comment.

Nearly immediately after the announcement of O'Reilly's departure, Fox released its new, O'Reilly-less lineup, which will start Monday, the day O'Reilly had been scheduled to return from vacation. Fox's longtime CEO Roger Ailes resigned abruptly amid similar sexual harassment charges last July.

But, when former anchor Megyn Kelly left the network, her replacement Carlson actually increased the ratings for that time slot, DiClemente said.

Another nearby planet found that may be just right for life
The new planet was found using eight small telescopes in Chile and help from an amateur planet-hunter, Charbonneau said. Its density is one of the main reasons for considering the planet a possible location for extraterrestrial life.

That certainly could happen, though it probably won't be easy.

In a letter to 21st Century Fox employees, head honcho Rupert Murdoch said the decision comes following "an extensive review done in collaboration with outside counsel".

"You need to write and call Fox News Channel today and tell them, you can lose your advertisers or you can lose your viewers", Beck said on his radio show hours before the firing. In 2016, two more women won settlements after complaining about alleged harassment that took place in years past. In the meantime, "The O'Reilly Factor" would continue this week with guest hosts Dana Perino and Greg Gutfeld. It's the top-rated show on the No. 1 cable network - one that, according to the investment bank Nomura's estimates, accounts for fully 20 percent of profits at 21st Century Fox.

O'Reilly, denied a chance to say goodbye to his Fox viewers, did so via a statement. "I think it is more like the platform being the kind of engine that drives the creation of that personality".

Fox also has a big financial safety cushion in the fees cable companies pay the network, which dwarf its ad revenue, according to Nomura media analyst Anthony DiClemente.
