Tulloch set to announce retirement from NFL

Stephen Tulloch is set to announce his retirement from the NFL.

Tulloch, who is now a free agent, will hold a press conference at the Lions' facility to make the end of his National Football League career official.

Tulloch played his first five seasons with Tennessee, then had his stint with the Lions before playing last season with the Philadelphia Eagles. Tulloch started his career with the Titans and played five years there after they selected him in the fourth round of the 2006 draft.

Active in the community, Tulloch enjoyed a brand of longevity plenty of players can only dream of. Tulloch had seven tackles in 12 games played. For his charitable works, he was named the team's Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee four consecutive years. The Detroit Lions broke the news on their official website. He accumulated 457 tackles, 4.5 sacks and two interceptions during his time in Nashville.

Arkansas fights on multiple legal fronts to begin executions
An employee inside the building said it likely had to do with Arkansas executions and Griffen's temporary restraining order. Judge Wendell Griffen has joined the #deathpenalty protest at the Governor's Mansion, simulating an inmate being executing.

As good as Tulloch was on the field, he may be remembered for one of the worst fails in sports history. The charity holds events and visits schools around Detroit to promote education and help families in need. As a junior, he was named First Team All-ACC, Honorable Mention All-American by Sports Illustrated, MVP of the 2005 Meineke Car Care Bowl and N.C. State's Defensive Award victor (for most tackles) while starting all 12 games.

Tulloch will now get a chance to celebrate his career in Detroit, where he enjoyed his best seasons.

In high school, Tulloch attended Miami Killian (Fla.) High School.
