Saudi helicopter shot down by friendly fire in Yemen

The Saudi-led coalition has been waging a military campaign to dislodge Iran-backed Yemeni Houthi rebels, who seized Yemen's capital Sana'a and other parts of the country in 2014, forcing the country's internationally-recognized government to flee into exile.

The Saudi-led military coalition fighting in Yemen said that it was "one of the deadliest incidents for the kingdom's troops since the Yemen war began more than two years ago", reported Reuters.

It gave no details on the cause of the crash, saying it was under investigation.

Twelve Saudi soldiers including several officers have been killed in a military helicopter crash in Yemen, the Arab coalition fighting Yemeni rebels says.

The Houthi-run Saba news agency said the helicopter crashed in an area known as al-Tadaween, northeast of the Marib provincial capital, and that 13 officers and soldiers had died.

Blue Jackets' Calvert suspended 1 game for hit on Kuhnhackl
The Jackets face an elimination game on Tuesday night at Nationwide Arena. "I think they play the game with a lot of courage". Then, with 6:35 left in the second period, the Penguins evened the score at 3-3 when Rust put a snap shot behind Bobrovsky.

The incident happened as US Defense Secretary James Mattis arrived in Riyadh, to discuss the Yemen war with Saudi leaders.

The coalition hopes that a successful operation there would force the rebels back to the negotiating table, in a considerably weaker position and thus more amenable to concessions.

He added that "It has gone on for a long time".

"So we will work with our allies, with our partners, to try to get it to the UN-brokered negotiating table".
