Filmed 'Fate of the Furious' to break global box office record

Record-breaking debut for newest ´Fast and Furious´ flick

The 8 installments of the franchise, the "Fate of the Furious," also surpasses the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" with $529 Million as the biggest worldwide opening of all time.

The previous record holder was Jurassic World with $417.2 million. Reports have it that "The Fate of the Furious" managed to make $100.2 million in the United States for its opening which is $47 million short compared to the $147.2 million opening of its predecessor "Furious 7" that was released in 2015.

"Fate of the Furious" broke the global weekend record set by "The Force Awakens" in part because the Star Wars film didn't premiere in China until a month after its first global release, said Paul Dergarabedian, a media analyst at ComScore.

Fortune also reported that The Fate of the Furious' global record opening is better than the domestic numbers, revealing that worldwide movie market has a significant impact most especially to countries like China.

The latest Fast And The Furious movie is expected to break an all time record to become the biggest worldwide debut of all time.

"Each one of these films has its own momentum", said Nick Carpou, Universal's president of domestic distribution.

Crystal Palace close on survival after comeback earns draw
The point took Palace, who have five wins and a draw from their past seven games, up to 15th in the Premier League and seven points clear of the bottom three.

Colin Trevorrow's dinosaur reboot took home £252.9m in two days, almost £200m less than Fate Of The Furious is expected to pull in.

Helmed by F Gary Gray, the flick stars Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Michelle Rodriguez in pivotal roles.

The movie went on to make $190m in the country over the weekend, making it the biggest opening ever for a Hollywood movie there. Globally, Furious 7 launched to $397.7 million (it didn't open in China until a week later). Given Walker's key role, it might have made more sense for the franchise to cap its run at seven films, as the previous movie made for a fitting emotional ending to the series.

Reports claimed that the 8th installment in "The Fast And The Furious" franchise has successfully made an estimated £425.2m over the Easter weekend.

Taking the No. 2 spot this week is "Boss Baby", bringing in an estimated $15.5 million.

Latest developments have confirmed that Fast and Furious 9 is already being planned for 2019 and a 10th instalment is set for a 2021 release. Going in Style rounded out the top five with $6.3 million.
