Microsoft says users are protected from alleged NSA malware

Since the release, Twitter has been ablaze with hackers, analysts and security experts reacting in shock to the number and impact of the tools released, one of which has been referred to as "God Mode" on certain Windows systems.

Security fences surround the National Security Agency's (NSA) Utah data collection center in Bluffdale, Utah near Salt Lake City on April 12, 2017.

The group returned last Saturday and published a batch of NSA exploits it had earlier tried, and failed, to sell. One of Microsoft's fixes, also called a patch, was only released last month. Under this theory, none of the exploits published Friday worked on supported Microsoft products, so the Shadow Brokers made a decision to use them in a propaganda campaign. Exploits are small programs for taking advantage of security flaws. Any hackers can now download the tools and learn from them.

The leak included detailed evidence that a string of major financial firms in Qatar, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Syria, Yemen, and the Palestinian territories, may have been hacked - or potentially targeted - by the United States government. Microsoft has said it has already patched the vulnerabilities discovered in this latest hack. Cisco Systems Inc has previously acknowledged that its firewalls had been vulnerable.

The NSA did not immediately respond to requests for comment, AP reported.

The files released indicate that the NSA allegedly accessed SWIFT's internal messaging systems to monitor the money flows of several banks in the Middle East and Latin America.

"Based on the information contained in the data dump, the NSA has been able to compromise SWIFT banking systems, presumably as a way to monitor, if not disrupt, financial transactions to terrorists groups", Thomas told SearchSecurity. However, Cris Thomas, strategist at Tenable Network Security, said today's dump "seems to be the largest and most damaging release to date".

Paulo Dybala signs new 5-year contract at Juventus
Argentina forward Paulo Dybala outshone his global compatriot, Barcelona's Lionel Messi, with two expertly taken goals in a stellar first half display that gave Juventus a commanding lead.

Several analysts have said that the revelations by "Shadow Brokers" are credible and that the files have nearly certainly come from the NSA, as some of them bear the agency's seals. Cisco is the only company that makes ASA firewalls, according to a Cisco employee who spoke on condition of anonymity.

"At this time, other than reporters, no individual or organization has contacted us in relation to the materials released by Shadow Brokers", a Microsoft spokesperson said in an email on Friday.

Microsoft researchers were working till late on Friday and addressed the issue for systems running Windows 7 and later, Tech Crunch reported on Sunday.

ETERNALSYNERGY, a remote code execution exploit against SMB3 that potentially works against operating systems as recent Windows Server 2012.

Misner's post showed that three of nine vulnerabilities from the leak were fixed in a March 14 security update.

The well-known hacking group (or individual) called "Shadow Brokers", just leaked a number of Windows vulnerabilities allegedly created to go after old Microsoft computers.
