Manifesto-writing fugitive found camping on Wisconsin farm

Jakubowski is being taken to Rock County for questioning and charges. He was transported to the Rock County Jail in Janesville.

Authorities said his rambling manifesto didn't include specific targets, but the threats to carry out violent acts were concern enough to bring the FBI, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and other federal and state law enforcement agencies into the manhunt. He faces local and federal weapons charges. Five guns, a samurai sword, copy of his manifesto, and inflammable liquids were found nearby his campsite.

Joseph Jakubowski, who was considered "armed and risky", allegedly stole 18 firearms from a gun store near Janesville, Wisconsin, on April 4 and had been on the run ever since.

"With the kind of weaponry he had, he could've done extensive damage", said Richard Erdman, owner of The Coin Shop, a pawn shop downtown.

Speaking at a news conference Friday afternoon, Janesville Police Chief David Moore said they could not have asked for a better ending to the nine-day search.

Police feared that he was planning an attack after he allegedly broke into a gun store and made off with 18 weapons.

The document doesn't say exactly what action the author will take.

"We are thankful that people don't have to worry about Easter weekend activities", he said.

Authorities in Wisconsin chased almost 800 leads before a fugitive they believed had a cache of stolen firearms was arrested while camping on a farmer's property. Special Agent in Charge Justin Tolomeo of the FBI's Milwaukee office speaks to reporters about the capture of Joseph Jakubowski on Friday, April 14, 2017, at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Janes.

Neil Gorsuch sworn into US Supreme Court
Like Scalia, he is a gifted writer with a flair for turning legal jargon into plain language people can understand. Gorsuch's confirmation was a badly needed boost for an administration riddled with controversy and misstep.

Readstown is 160 miles (260 kilometers) west of Milwaukee. But police say he previously resisted arrest and once tried to disarm an officer.

The Wisconsin man who sent a manifesto to the president earlier this month has been captured, the Beloit (Wis.) Police Department announced via Twitter on Friday.

They said firearms were located in the area where Jakubowski was arrested.

He has been a fugitive and the subject of a nationwide manhunt the past 10 days. Gorn, a retired high school counselor, says he talked to the man for about an hour and never once felt threatened.

Gorn returned to his house and called sheriff's officials.

According to a news release, the Vernon County Sheriff's Office received a report of a suspicious person on a farmer's property on Estes Road near Readstown, Wisconsin.

An online video was also posted, in which Jakubowski supposedly mailed a manifesto to Donald Trump.

Sheriff Robert Spoden described the manifesto as "a long laundry list of injustices that he believes the government and society and the upper class have put forth onto the rest of the citizens".
