Apple gets permit to test self-driving cars in California

It has been very quite in recent months about the Apple auto project.

Apple has joined the list of companies with permits to test self-driving cars in California, according to an updated roster released on Friday by state officials.

Late previous year, Apple revealed it is investing heavily in autonomous vehicles in a letter asking the government to make it easier to develop self-driving cars.

Most major auto manufacturers and many technology groups are now developing autonomous vehicles, considered to be the future of the automobile, along with electric power, with first production models promised for around 2020.

Now out of nowhere there is proof that Apple is working on self-driving cars. Now it appears that Apple are shortly to reveal what it has been up to in relation to automotive-related projects.

Boy killed in classroom was 'happy child' with rare disorder
Anderson also injured another child, and later turned the gun on himself. "Nor do we know why he chose to do this at the school". I want to thank the first responders, teachers and school administrators who were there to protect the students in harm's way.

Long suspected of working on a self-driving vehicle project, Apple has never openly and directly discussed its interest in cars.

The agency said Apple has been given permission to test three cars manufactured by Lexus. A company source told Bloomberg that autonomous vehicle testing would begin "soon", but declined to specify any further.

"Apple uses machine learning to make its products and services smarter, more intuitive and more personal".

If writing a letter to the NHTSA isn't a clear enough sign of the company's intent, then perhaps this latest development of having their name listed as the 30 company to test autonomous vehicles in the sunny state should be enough proof. Additionally, six drivers have been given permission to be part of these trails.

That means Apple has a long way to catch up in self-driving technology, but it's also a company with a history of trailing in markets that it eventually revolutionizes. Hopefully, Apple won't be one of them but, rather, be one of those companies that will push forward its technology in public, letting people see how close they are (or how far they are, as the case may be) to fully autonomous cars of the future.
